I’m not waiting in a mindset

Of sadness, anxiety or stress

Nor fearful or worried about what-ifs

Nor am I impatient with life’s timing.

In quiet excitement

In peaceful acceptance

In calm anticipation

With fresh determination.

Waiting, like when I wait …

For the sun to burst through the horizon

For the tide to swirl up around my feet

To open a surprise gift

To hold a newborn baby.

Wake refreshed from a good night’s sleep

Finish reading a great book or meme

Look in a garden for fresh flowers blooming

Feel my Lover’s arms wrap around me.
