The Door of Love – The Wilted Rose

Introduction:

The story of Sarah continues. The door to Sarah’s heart has swung wide open letting George’s confessed love for her flow into her life. They have been on several dates and grown familiar with each other’s lives and interests. She has never known happiness like this before. Her heart feels like it will burst out of her chest. It is the 1950s in Brisbane, Australia. Sarah is working full-time as a Register Nursing sister at the Royal Brisbane Hospital. Beverley Joy.

Book Excerpt – The Wilted Rose Part 2 – The Rose Blossom

She quietly closed her bedroom door, tiptoeing to her bed. She collapsed onto her front, burying her face in her pillow and squealing.
‘Sarah?’ She looked around, seeing Vivienne sit up.
‘How did it go?’
‘Vivienne, I love him!’ she exclaimed, rolling onto her back and throwing her arms up over her head.

She glanced cautiously at the door, clasping her hand over her mouth and giggling. Vivienne scampered across the room to Sarah’s bed.
‘It was so wonderful. It was as if I were in a dream!’ She placed her hand over Vivienne’s. ‘He told me he loved me!’‘He did?’

Vivienne’s eyes were wide as she slapped her hand over her own mouth.
‘Yes. He did. I’ve never felt this way before.’
‘Oh, Sarah, I’m so happy for you!’ Vivienne shrieked.
‘Shhh’ Sarah hissed, and she and Vivienne giggled softly.

‘I can’t believe it,’ she continued. ‘I’m so in love! I can’t understand it; it’s all just racing through me! I’m excited and terrified all at once! I just want to shout, and tell the world, ‘I love him!’ a million times over and over again!’
