Time will tell – Wilted No More Part 2

The vulnerability and emotional complexities of new love.

This poem highlights the awkwardness and uncertainty as Brian and Grace open their hearts to love. Despite playfulness and enthusiasm, an underlying struggle with self-doubt and the challenge of letting love in emerges. It illustrates a push-and-pull dynamic between confidence and insecurity, reinforced by shifting emotions.

As Grace has recently left her relationship with Alex, her feelings for Brian will take time to grow. Beverley Joy.

Listen HERE – Poem – Time Will Tell

Our eyes met and curiosity flared

We walked and talked, we laughed and smiled

We sat together and chatted a while.

I dived in boots and all sharing far too much

Now I’m feeling vulnerable, awkward and uncomfortable

Iโ€™m bubbly and loud, I must admit

Could I be loved by someone such as this?

Itโ€™s not so much could I be loved

For I know another could love me, dear

Itโ€™s about me letting love in

Well, I guess, only time will tell.

Last week I felt strong and in control

Now things look bleak, Iโ€™m weak in the knees

Iโ€™m magnetised to be centre-stage

Youโ€™re a willing, captive audience.

My emotional stats read like the share market

I thought Iโ€™d ticked off the โ€˜responsibleโ€™ chart

But when I took the test I didnโ€™t pass.

My passion looms with thoughts of you

To be responsible is proving impossible

The truth is revealed. My fate is sealed.

Iโ€™m nervous and coy, I must admit

Could I be loved by someone such as this?

Itโ€™s not so much could I be loved

For I know another could love me, dear

Itโ€™s about me letting love in

Well, I guess, only time will tell.
